Although the name Ceramic Coating or Polydimethylsiloxanes (PDMS) is already widely known among detailers and consumers, coating on higher chemical platforms such as (Thin Film) Ceramic Coating based on cross-linked silicon-nitrogen polymers and ceramics derived from reactions of dichlorosilane with ammonia is not yet real well understood.

There are many different coatings on the market today, but not all of these coatings are the same. The ingredients to make a high-tech layer are expensive and due to competition, some more competitive layers are made with fewer ingredients to achieve lower costs.

NANO-CERAMIC®,  vertical supplier and manufacturer with its own labs and producer of both types, will answer eight frequently asked questions about common PDMS versus the SIBC – SIO1- SIO3 – SIO5 (Thin Film) Ceramic Coatings.

After reading you will have a better understanding about these impressive high-tech coating systems.

HOW THE COATING MARKET LOOKS LIKE?

There are many different coatings on the market today, but not all of these coatings are the same. The ingredients to make a high-tech layer are expensive and due to competition, some more competitive layers are made with fewer ingredients to achieve a lower cost. Sometimes installers indicate to provide multiple layers of protection. Keep in mind that this factor alone does not guarantee durability.

HOW DO YOU RECOGNIZE LOW DURABILITY COATINGS?

Maximum durability is entirely dependent on the hardness of the layer (after it has fully cured). Hardness is the most important and crucial factor. This can be tested if you apply several coatings side by side. Usually a hard plastic cigarette lighter as a tool can be used to scratch the layers. If the layer is scratched for sure the layer will be made of Ceramic Coating PDMS.

PDMS usually is 4 microns thick and can be more easy applied due to more flexibility in the layer structure. If flexibility is added the durability (hardness) will decrease simultaneously, eventually you may end up with something like a hard wax, and this can damage a customer’s confidence in ceramic coatings and the skill of the installer.

HOW TO EDUCATE THE CONSUMERS?

Premium coatings are often misunderstood because the customers do not know where to start. They often where faced with high promises which ends up in disappointments, NANO-CERAMIC® is one of the companies who is offering complete technical information about their (Thin Film) Ceramic Coating solutions. Their innovative coatings offer superior performance and are based on maximum hardness.

WHAT ABOUT THE ORIGINAL CAR’S FACTORY PAINT?

A very important point in achieving maximum hardness is the condition of the car’s factory paint.

Asian car brands are often soft painted with more glossy paints while European cars are mostly less glossy and hard painted. If a ceramic layer is applied to a soft painted car the ceramic layer will be less from hardness compared to a European car with a harder factory paint.

WHAT IS THE BEST SOLUTION FOR ALL FACTORY PAINTS?

NANO-CERAMIC® has developed their high performance SIBC Gorilla Basecoat (non-hydrophobic) which makes the soft factory paint to a very hard foundation. This basecoat is four times harder than the factory paint. You can best compare it with a very thin layer of your smartphone glass.

HOW TO CHOOSE YOUR COATING?

At NANO-CERAMIC® customers will get exactly what is promised simply by choosing one of following packages:

span style=”font-weight: 400;”>Almost all new developments resulted from the Automotive Industry, where small LED lamps first came to light. Nowadays there is hardly any public space or home that is illuminated with conventional lighting. We see the same trend with cleaning aids. If  (Thin Film) Automotive Ceramic Coatings are already familiar to you, then you are definitely taking this next step.

NANO-CERAMIC® has done in-depth research in the hotel industry where cleaning efficiency is an everyday issue. Their total solution aroused our interest. After you read it, you will better understand how easy it has become to save on cleaning time and, more importantly, how to keep your indoor and outdoor surfaces looking like new.

WHAT ARE THE MAIN CLEANING PROBLEMS THAT HOMES, HOTELS, OR OTHER PUBLIC PLACES SUFFER?

We noticed that the biggest damage occurs because of the fact that many cleaning products on the market contain color chemicals (for marketing purposes) or contain too strong chemicals, especially if they are not diluted in the right way. These in combination with UV radiation (sunlight) are the main factors of damage and discoloration from the surfaces. In addition, cleaning aids for cleaning staff are all very similar.
The mistake of using a floor cleaner on the wrong surface is easily made. Such small mistakes can cause huge damage throughout the hotel. Because of the damage interiors has to be renovated in a short period of time, resulting in high costs. Such damage can be avoided by using the NANO-CERAMIC® “Clean & Protect” products. All of these products are completely ECO-friendly and Safe to Use.

THE NEXT GENERATION IN SURFACE TECHNOLOGY

Our (PCS) Permanent Coating System is not an ordinary paint system. This revolutionary ceramic coating and paint system combines advanced technology developed exclusively by NANO CERAMIC with the special properties of surface cleaning Nano Technology to deliver superior performance.

WHAT IS EXACTLY  CERAMIC COATING AND PAINT?

Ceramic paint, also known as ceramic coating, is a type of high-performance paint used in various applications, including automotive, industrial, and residential settings. It contains ceramic particles or nanotechnology that enhance the paint’s properties and provide unique advantages. Ceramic paint is known for its exceptional durability, heat resistance, and protective qualities. Here are some key characteristics and uses of 0ur ceramic paint:

  • Durability: Ceramic paint is highly durable and can withstand harsh environmental conditions, including extreme temperatures, UV radiation, and chemical exposure. It is often used in applications where long-lasting protection is essential.
  • Heat Resistance: Ceramic paint can resist high temperatures, making it suitable for applications in which heat resistance is crucial. This includes exhaust systems, industrial machinery, and high-heat areas in residential and commercial settings.
  • Corrosion Resistance: Ceramic coatings are effective at preventing corrosion and rust on metal surfaces. This is especially important in marine, automotive and industrial applications where metal components are exposed to moisture and corrosive substances.
  • Protective Coating: Ceramic paint acts as a protective barrier, shielding the underlying surfaces from damage due to abrasion, impact, and chemical exposure. It helps extend the life of the coated items.
  • Hydrophobic Properties: Our ceramic coatings and paints have hydrophobic properties, which means they repel water and prevent it from adhering to the surface. This makes the coated surfaces easier to clean and reduces water spots.
  • Enhanced Gloss and Appearance: Ceramic paint can provide a high-gloss finish and improve the overall appearance of surfaces. It can also enhance the color and depth of the painted item.
  • Reduced Maintenance: Ceramic coatings often reduce the need for frequent maintenance and cleaning, as they make surfaces more resistant to dirt, contaminants, and environmental damage.

(PCS) Ceramic Coating and Paint are the latest generations of protective coating. A durable matrix of molecular bonds transforms the paint after application into a hard ceramic, providing superior scratch resistance and near-permanent protection for all exterior or interior surfaces.

The transformation assures a complete resistance to water vapor and water absorption. This means that no dirt can enter the layer.

In addition, there are many more new features like superior adhesion up to in the deepest nano level to make sure that our coatings and paints can adhere to all organic materials. The adhesion of paints is crucial in today’s extreme climate.

To give you an example; if this ceramic paint is applied to a concrete wall and you try to remove the paint after complete transformation, then the concrete will break first (not the paint).

In addition, the applied surface becomes permanently dirt-repellent, and last but not least has the paint an exceptional and unmatched color and gloss retention

A comprehensive independent test report EN 1504-2 with all features proven is available for download on our website www.nano-ceramic.com.

WHAT TYPES OF MATERIALS CAN YOU COAT?

(PCS) Ceramic Coating and Paint can be applied to all organic materials, like carbon, steel, aluminum, stainless steel, steel alloys, brass, magnesium, wood, stone, gypsum, ceramics glass, acrylic, carbon fiber, certain rubbers, and plastics.

HOW TO APPLY THE CERAMIC COATING AND PAINT?

(PCS) Ceramic Coating and Paint can be applied using a conventional spraying method, driven by compressed air. Another way is to simply use a roller, or brush and tip. In fact, the method of application depends on the substrate/structure and its desired effect.

WHAT IS THE WEAR LIFE, RESP. HOW LONG WILL THIS HIGH-PERFORMANCE COATING LAST?

For this, we have referred to the aging test in the test report where the paint shows no change at all. Based on the overall outcome of the report we have the confidence to say that we expect lifetimes from 20-25 years and up.

CAN UNDERWATER SURFACES BE COATED AS WELL?

For this purpose, a revolutionary (PCS) Ceramic Antifouling Paint is available with a self-polishing amphiphilic biofilm that masks the boat hull surface of the marine organisms. The Technology is called Invisible Hull. This High Tech antifouling stores more and releases fewer biocidal agents, resulting in an extremely long maintenance interval of 8 year+.

So it is very easy to apply, saving you money on labor, and will save you money in the end with fewer paint jobs (up to 20-25 years lifecycle) resulting that the paints being most affordable due to the lowest depreciation per year opposite all common paints. And most important (PCS) ceramic coating and paint is simply the best solution to keep the value of your investment in place.

HEALTH AND SAFETY

The key to our resins is that they are polymeric. Our resins have a relatively high molecular weight. Generally speaking, our resins will not leak into groundwater (when reacted and dried) and cannot cross the cell membrane. They do not degrade into polyfluoralkyl substances such as the acids Perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) and Perfluorooctanesulfonic acid (PFOS), which are resistant to normal environmental degradation processes. These types of PFAS were defined by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) in 2018.  In this way our coatings can be considered as “polymers of low concern” (PLC). Additionally, our coatings are FDA Food Contact Safe.
